Basic Types of Cabinets

Base Cabinets

Base cabinets are standard in every kitchen and are placed over a toe kick. They are usually 36 tall and 24 inches deep (but the depth can be adjusted to 27 inches) depending on your preference.

Tall Cabinets

Some kitchens have tall cabinets, which are usually placed on the corner and have higher dimensions compared to the wall-mounted cabinets and base cabinets. They serve as storage for brooms and other cleaning materials. Tall cabinets work best in spacious kitchens with high ceilings. They’re typically 83.5 inches tall but it can be adjusted depending on your kitchen size.

Wall Cabinets

Wall cabinets, also referred to as upper cabinetry, are mounted on the wall above the base cabinets. If your kitchen has a lower ceiling, it’s advisable to be cautious when adding wall cabinets to avoid making the space feel cramped. Wall cabinets are often 12 inches deep, but the depth can be adjusted as much as 17 inches depending on the size of your kitchen.

Specialty Units

As the name suggests, these are custom cabinets that you can add to your kitchen to make things more organized. It can be a corner cabinet or a suspended unit. Other types include appliance garages, sink fronts, hutches, bottle racks, and cooktop fronts. We can customize the depths and heights of your specialty units depending on the size of your kitchen.

Flat Panel Doors

Flat-panel cabinet doors, also known as slab cabinet doors, are ideal for modern and contemporary kitchens, offering a minimalistic and sleek design that delivers a fresh, effortlessly cool appearance. With their simple, unadorned style, these cabinets can feature either a matte or glossy finish.

Louvered Cabinet Doors

Louvered cabinet doors are among the more expensive options and are often linked with luxury and sophistication. If you’re seeking a distinctive and opulent cabinet style, louvered doors might be the perfect choice. Beyond their elegant appearance, louvered doors also provide practical ventilation, with spaces between each slat making them ideal for kitchens that require enhanced airflow.

Distressed Cabinets

Ideal for antique enthusiasts, distressed cabinet doors offer a refined and timeless appearance. They can be combined with nearly any cabinet door style to create captivating cabinets.
